| The Land of Fire is one of the largest and most powerful countries in the series. Its main hidden village, Konohagakure or Hidden Leaf Village, is the home of the main cast. The Land of Fire is appropriately oriented towards the element of fire, typically having very bright and warm weather. While not the largest country, it has the largest hidden city.

| 0 | 0 | | | The Land of Water is oriented towards the element of water. It is composed of many islands, with each having its own unique traditions. The country's weather is typically cool and full of mist and lakes. In some places, like the area where Haku grew up, it is very cold and snows quite a bit. Little is currently known about it and it apparently leaves itself out of most political affairs, which is understandable considering that it is an island relatively remote from the continent containing the other four major countries. Its hidden village is Kirigakure, the Village Hidden in the Mist.

| 0 | 0 | | | The Land of Wind is a typically dry and windy climate, and is covered in large deserts as a result. Sandstorms are a common occurrence. The Land of Wind is home to Sunagakure or Hidden Sand Village. It had been relatively uninvolved with politics until recent times, and even had a peace treaty signed with the Land of Fire.

What little is known is that it is covered in rocks and caves, with mountains acting as a natural border for the country that make communication with other countries difficult. The winds of the country are also particularly strong, picking up rocks as they go and dropping them upon cities. They are not allies with the Land of Fire. Their hidden village is Iwagakure, the Village Hidden in the Rocks.

| The Land of the Moon is an island nation in the shape of a crescent moon, hence the name. It is home to the ninja village Getsugakure, Village Hidden under the Moon. This country is also home of the Hidden Akatsuki Headquarters.

The country had been marked by conflict in the past, with wars with neighboring countries taking a heavy toll on its clans like the Fuuma. It was this constant strife that provided the country with enough reason to welcome Orochimaru in the hopes he could make them powerful. The current proper name of the country is unknown, citizens refer to it as the "Rice Field Country" while Sound ninja refer to it as the "Sound Country." The difference arising because of "Rice Field's" filler origin, but inuniverse it could be because the Sound think of it as their country now. The country shares borders Fire and two as of yet unnamed countries.

This land has an abundance of bamboo forests, grasslands filled with strange mushrooms, rivers and flowery mountains. Little more is known about the country except that it’s speculated that Grass ninja specialize in nature or plant jutsus. The most notable shinobi's from Grass country are the za-men manipyure-ta tribe. The way in to this country from the leaf is the famous Tenchi Bridge,from rain it's the big bamboo forest while you have to climb the hill's to get in to stone country.Only a few selected know their way around the big canyon to get into waterfall. The hidden village is called Kusagakure, Village Hidden Among Grass, and is located in the Land of Grass.

| 0 | 0 | | | The Land of Snow was the focus of the first Naruto movie, in which it had been taken over by a tyrant. Its hidden village is Yukigakure, or Hidden Snow Village. The Land of Snow possesses an unusually advanced level of technology when compared to other countries in the Naruto world. Things such as railroads, airships, power generators, and volley guns are commonplace here, though the latter fired salvos of kunai instead of bullets. Additionally, their ninja wear special chakra armor that makes them virtually immune to ninjutsu and genjutsu.

| 0 | 0 | | | The Land of Rain is home to Amegakure or Hidden Rain Village, and is filled with a great number of small buildings in a heavily wooded area, suggesting that it might perhaps be located in a rainforest. Its borders are highly defended, and those wishing to pass through the country must first give their name, purpose, and amount of time they intend on staying in the country before being allowed admission. Even if one is permitted to enter the country, they will be under constant surveillance by the government for the duration of their stay.

| 0 | 0 | | | Hidden Star is a lower shinobi village, being allied with Leaf. However it has not yet participated in the Chuunin Exam with the other countries. The ninja of this village meditate around the chakra enhancing meteor, honing and enhancing their chakra. The village is small and must rely on outside help when their manpower is not enough. Because of the importance of the star, children in the village are given names related to stars and constellations at birth.
